This Ecochallenge provided an outlet for students, parents, and adult learners to be moved to action during the entire month of April.  We built social media content to be shared via our Facebook page shared the Mid-Willamette Earth Challenge link for our public to engage with.

Highlights from the Mid-Willamette Earth Challenge:
1520 minutes of outdoor time was logged
577 gallons of water was saved
675 minutes of environmental learning took place
10 trees were planted

We pivoted once more in the month of May to focus on urban conservation.  Our topics were lawn fertilization, outdoor water conservation, and how to remove lawn and incorporate natives and edible plants into your yard. We partnered with City of Keizer to hold weekly Facebook Live presentations which were well received.  Brandon Bishop was our featured speaker for fertilization, and we reached 704 people!  Our irrigation subject matter expert was Deborah Top with the City of Salem.  She is a wonderful partner and expert in her field of Stormwater.  The last piece of this outreach is a backyard tour with a Marion County Master Gardener who removed lawn in the name of conservation.  Check out these great videos: https://www.facebook.com/pg/cityofkeizerOR/videos/?ref=page_internal

Moving forward this month we are hoping to focus on conservation projects that have been implemented in our district.  We continue to support teachers/parents in their new classrooms through online meeting platforms/videos and lesson plans.  We continue to accept CLEAR grant applications.  We continue to provide adult education through social media campaigns.  We continue to be here for you.  We are only a phone call or email away; it is a pleasure to be flexible with you in these strange times.  Cheers to you and enjoy the last glimpses of spring as summer is ever closer.
