Pacific Willow

Salix lucida var. lasiandra

Fast-growing deciduous shrubby tree forms dense thickets in wet areas. Early blooms provide important food for bumble bees and other pollinators. Willows provide important food for elk, deer, beaver, and birds. The trees also cool water and hold soils, improving aquatic habitats for fish. The whips and bark are used in basketry and windbreaks.
