Showy Milkweed

Asclepias speciosa

Plant Description

The favorite plant of monarch butterflies, this perennial produces large showy clusters of creamy-pink flowers. The leaves are covered with wooly hairs and seed pods burst open to release seeds that catch the wind to disperse. It blooms late spring to mid summer with a beautiful scent and uniquely spiky flower clusters.
