Community Salmon Watch

September 28 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

4 photos to illustrate the Community Salmon Watch event. Images: a salmon splashing up out of the river, three people testing water quality, four people collecting stream invertebrates, a group gazing into the river at salmon spawning.Come see Chinook salmon spawning in the North Santiam River and chat with experts about it. An experience of a lifetime!

We’ll have educators on hand to explain what the salmon are doing. This is a free, move-at-your-own-pace event. Instructors at four stations will introduce you to salmon biology and life history, water quality, aquatic macroinvertebrates, and the importance of a riparian vegetation.

Parking is limited at this park – please carpool if possible.

If you need special accommodations, including translation services, in order to participate, please call the event coordinator at 503-949-4709 or email heath.keirstead@marionswcd.net as far in advance as possible.
