Convert your lawn to a native meadow!  Learn how to install and maintain native bunchgrass and wildflower meadowscapes to increase storm water infiltration and habitat diversity.  Reconnect with Oregon’s prairie heritage through this beautiful landscape alternative!

Whether your garden is 1/10th of an acre or 10 acres, you can support pollinators, store carbon, and conserve water by meadowscaping. Mary Logalbo of West Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District will introduce the concept and benefits of meadowscaping to help you get started.

Mary earned her Executive Master’s in Public Administration at Portland State University’s Hatfield School of Government and her B.S. in Environmental Science from Plattsburgh State University of New York. At WMSWCD, Mary has managed a wide array of urban conservation and restoration programs, has served as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee co-chair, managed the creation of the district’s new 5-year strategic plan, held the position of Interim District Manager, co-authored the Meadowscaping handbook, and has recently taken on management of the District’s education and grant programming along with serving as Climate Change Strategic Direction lead with her organization.
