Thuja plicata
Western red cedar is an elegant, large evergreen conifer with sweeping boughs of scales instead of needles. It is an excellent tree for moist, cool areas, but doesn’t tolerate drought well. Highly ornamental with fragrant foliage, the wood is prized for it’s resistance to rot and ability to repel moths and other pests.
