Lonicera involucrata
Black twinberry is an attractive large, dense shrub with delicate yellow flowers that grow in pairs. They turn into shiny black berries with unique, bright red bracts as the season progresses. The flowers are visited by hummingbirds and other pollinators, while the berries are eaten by birds. It is easy to grow and tolerant of both sun and shade, but prefers moist soil, even tolerating seasonal flooding. A beautiful plant for rain gardens and stream sides.
