Grand Fir

Abies grandis

Grand fir is a very large and tall majestic conifer with greyish brown bark and dark green needles that lay flat along the branches. It grows alongside Douglas-fir in conifer and mixed hardwood forests of the region. Grand fir can tolerate some shade and makes an excellent screen or windbreak.
